Item Description

A classic example of this famous material from Ajo featuring a sharp, well-formed, deep blue colored prismatic crystal of Azurite partially altering to mint green colored Malachite on the back sitting on a tiny bit of matrix. The Azurite crystal is actually doubly-terminated, and shows no major damage (only a few TINY Wilbers), though it is contacted on the back. A great representation of this well-known historic material. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#7282). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020. See the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record ( https://www.mineralogicalrecord.com/pdfs/Kay%20Robertson%20Collection.pdf ), and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017.
