Babingtonite on Prehnite

Item Description

Two, lustrous, sharp, jet-black, babingtonite crystals to 2.2 cm are aesthetically attached to matrix crust of pretty sea-green prehnite on this excellent piece from recent Chinese finds. The two crystals are doubly terminated and are pristine. Smaller babingtonites and cute quartz needles accent the larger crystals on both sides. Choice material. These remarkable specimens come out of a very small, previously insignificant quarry that, according to MINDAT, is simply worked by the local farmers.
