Item Description

A very hard to find specimen of Babingtonite from the famous Iron Cap Mine in Arizona. This locality is famous for its superb gem quality green Sphalerite crystals, but other species like Babingtonite are virtually unseen in today's market. This piece comes to us from the collection of Harold Urish, who self-collected this specimen at the locality in February of 1994. Under magnification you can see a few small, sharp, bladed, jet-black, striated crystals of Babingtonite measuring up to 3 mm on matrix. This is a must have specimen for any serious Arizona mineral collector, as you'd be hard-pressed to find another on the market today.
