Item Description

An impressive specimen of glassy, transparent to translucent, colorless barite blades with sawtoothed edges from a classic England locality - the Settlingstones Mine, Northumberland. The large crystal is 4.5 cm. This excellent piece is in fine shape, with only a couple of minor broken crystals and modest periphery wear. Historic, old-time material, probably around 100 years old or older. Ex Robert Sullivan Collection. Valued $600-800.
