Barite (ex Obodda)

Item Description

A classic golden Barite specimen from the famous Pohla Mine. Excellent, sharp, lustrous, rich golden color orthorhombic crystals. Just a bit of damage around the periphery, but good condition overall, and very good luster for the material. Hard to find on the market now, even though they were fairly abundant a few years back. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#10794). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017).
