Barite (large for locale)

Item Description

An impressive, very large for the area, complete all-around barite crystal from the Book Cliffs of Colorado. The glassy, transparent to translucent, light gray crystal has a classic, sharp, chisel termination. Nearly pristine, a very trivial bit of termination edgewear and very minor contacting near the base are noted, but are certainly minimal detractions. A fine, very large, example of the species and locale from the Schlichter Collection. A must for the Colorado or species collector. Valued at $150-200.
