Barite (Schlichter Coll.)

Item Description

Blocky, lustrous, translucent, honey-brown, barite crystals aesthetically cover the matrix on this showy and excellent barite specimen from Montana. The striking, large, dominating crystal is 2.7 cm. Many of the crystals have a preferential secondary barite overgrowth giving them a frosted look. A bit of periphery wear is noted, but certainly nothing to detraction. A high quality example of the species and locale from the Ernie and Vera Schlichter Collection. Valued $750-900
