Item Description

Blocky, lustrous, translucent, honey-brown, barite crystals cover this showy and excellent plate. Some of the two-toned crystals have a preferential secondary barite overgrowth giving them a frosted look. The matrix is massive barite. The striking, large, dominating crystal is 2.7 x 2.6 x 2.1 cm. The interiors of some of the crystals have striking gemmy flashes. Essentially pristine, the modest periphery wear is certainly not a detraction. A high quality two-sided example of the species and locale from the Ernie and Vera Schlichter Collection. Valued $300-400.
