Item Description

A hard to find Barite specimen from the well known White Raven Mine. The white, bladed crystals are a classic representation of the Barites from this old silver producer. This piece hosts sharp bladed white Barites up to 5 mm with a matrix of golden Siderite and silvery Galena. A great piece to pick up for any collector of Boulder County material, or possibly a Colorado thumbnail collector. This specimen comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. You can read Willard's bio on the Mineralogical Record website here ( http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1528 ). The piece comes a hand-written label from Wulff.
