Item Description

The distinctive and classic Barytes from Stoneham, Colorado are signature specimens of the species from anywhere in the United States or the world for that matter. The iconic blue color along with the fine crystallization and excellent gemminess of the crystals is easily recognizable. This piece was found in the late 1980s and features a group of parallel crystals with sharp, well-formed faces and that classic blue color which really comes through when the piece is backlit. No real damage that I can see with the naked eye. It's complete all the way around, and the crystals are fairly gemmy when backlit. These specimens are rarely seen on the market now and are true classics from Colorado.
