Item Description

Sculptural two-sided small cabinet barite from the important 2012-14 Morocco finds. Opposing parallel-growth sheaves of thin-bladed crystals form a dramatic specimen. The glassy, translucent blades have gorgeous ice-blue bodies, some capped with jagged near-colorless terminations. The embedded oxides from the vug walls add contrast. Broken blades near the base on both sides are noted, but this remains a showy and highly representative two-sided example of the species and noted recent find. These are the finest worldwide barite finds in the recent past and this is an excellent example.
