Baryte and Fluorite

Parallel-growth, glassy, translucent, tabular baryte spearpoints are aesthetically attached to a stepped-growth cluster of intergrown, gemmy, mint-green fluorite cuboctahedrons on this impressive and unusual two-sided specimen. The large doubly terminated barite blade is 8.7 cm long. Interesting fluid flow and crystal chemistry here, as both the barytes and fluorites on one side are coated with tiny secondary barite crystals. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a small bit of bruising to one side of a barite termination tip. Rare, seldom available and excellent combination material today, as this lead-zinc-fluorite mine closed formally in 2001 but specimens came out only into the early 1990s. Such pieces are rare, today.
