Item Description

Classic and excellent two generation barite from the famous early 1980s finds at the Magma Mine. Gemmy, sharp, lustrous tabular prisms, to 1.0 cm on edge, have beautiful clove-brown color. The crystals are aesthetically clustered on both sides of the thin matrix plate, that is composed solidly of an earlier generation of smaller, coated and included barite crystals. Choice Arizona barite from Francesco Bedogne Colllection #513. Dr. Bedogne, 1942-2012, was a well-known Italian mineralogist, prolific author, field collector and collector. Read his biography in the Mineralogical Record Biographical Archive: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=118. A very aesthetic and desirable two-sided barite small cabinet.
