Baryte (fine crystals) on Dolomite

A classic and fine quality display specimen of these excellent and well-known Barytes from Cerro Warihuyn. These pieces are not only beautiful, and really good quality for the species, but they are now are approaching "classic" status, as they first hit the market in the early 2000s. They are certainly some of the best Barytes from any locality in South America. This small cabinet sized piece hosts very sharp, highly lustrous, gemmy/translucent, tabular bladed Baryte crystals of a beautiful silvery-blue color sitting on contrasting pink Dolomite, aesthetically sitting on matrix. The largest Baryte crystal measures 2.1 cm. I love the arrangement and three-dimensional appeal of the specimen, and it displays wonderfully as you can see from the video. I can't find any major damage, just a few minor imperfections, a really showy and fine quality example of these now hard to find specimens. Certainly worth picking up if you collect Barytes, Peruvian minerals or general worldwide display pieces. Valued $950.
