Item Description

A 1.3 cm, very above-average gemmy and lustrous, benitoite crystal is aesthetically set on serpentine matrix. The benitoites have textbook form and fine indigo-blue color. Tiny, lustrous and translucent crystals of the very rare silicate, joaquinite are richly peppered on the matrix with a bit of snow-white natrolite and a few neptunites as further accents. This is classic and fine, older combination material from the famous and extinct, Dallas Gem Mine. One side has been sawed to enhance the display quality. Ex Ed Bancroft Collection,, son of noted author, collector, curator and educator, Pete Bancroft.
