Item Description

A soft greenish-blue colored, gemmy, sharp, lustrous, prismatic hexagonal crystal of Beryl (Aquamarine) from an undisclosed locality - simply labeled as Ekaterinburg - in Russia. The crystal has some interesting tan "tube" like inclusions running the length of the prism, and is associated with unidentified off-white colored prismatic crystals. A strange piece for the area, as most Beryls from Ekaterinburg are Emeralds, but this one is certainly an interesting novelty to add to a gem crystal suite or a collection of Russian minerals. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#7944). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
