Item Description

The Aquamarine crystals from Pakistan are among the best and most well-known examples of this blue variety of Beryl in the world. This particular piece is not just a well-formed, hexagonal prism with a soft blue color, but it's also very gemmy internally, which is important because there is a single water bubble inclusion inside, which you can clearly see moving around when the piece is rotated around. It's rare to find Aquamarine crystals with water bubble inclusions, let alone a pretty thumbnail with a bubble that moves around this much. There's a good sized "pocket" inside of the crystal, and the water bubble travels all over inside. The bubble is best seen with a bit of backlighting. A really attractive and frankly rare specimen that would make a great addition to any thumbnail suite or a collection of enhydro specimens.
From the collection of David E Ziga, a geologist who graduated Miami (of Ohio) University in 2017, with a mineralogy background.
