Beryl var: Aquamarine with Muscovite on Albite

There are many prolific pegmatite mineral localities found throughout the high mountains of Pakistan. Many of these pegmatites are world-famous for producing what are inarguably among the finest examples of Aquamarine in the world, and certainly the finest matrix specimens. The production over the last 30+ years has been quite impressive, especially considering that several pieces found within the last few years are among the best matrix Aquamarine specimens in the world. Most people associate Pakistani Aquas with the Shigar Valley, where this attractive and showy small cabinet piece is from. It features a pair of glassy, sharp, gemmy, soft blue color, hexagonal crystals of Aquamarine measuring up to 2.0 cm, which are associated with beautiful bladed groups of silvery-golden Muscovite sitting on off-white colored Albite matrix. The Aqua crystals are in good shape, though there are some little nicks, so they are not 100% pristine. A good quality, showy display specimen of this classic material from Chumar Bakhoor. Valued $950
