Item Description

A choice miniature with a single, glassy and gemmy, medium green emerald crystal, 2 cm in length, aesthetically emplaced on a gray shale matrix with minor calcite. The crystal exhibits moderaly good intensity of color. The crystal is approx 9 mm wide and 8 mm deep, about 20 mm tall, nice and equant. It is complete all around but for a shallow growth contact on one side. It is a fine display miniature! One must always be careful with matrix emeralds! It LOOKS like a legit fit. One must assume the piece was stabilized with glue prior to trimming out, and although we put in acetone and it did not come out overnight, so I see no indication of fakery, we cannot rule out a repair with more durable epoxy or glue. Valued (as stabilised) at $1500-2500 range.
