A beautiful, gemmy and lustrous, INTENSELY yellow heliodor crystal from a new find in Vietnam. The color is simply shocking, as pure to yellow as I have seen in heliodors, which usually have a hint of amber or brown to them. The well-striated faces and sharp termination make this a reflective jewel in a case, though it is actually only translucent and not transparent. The crystal is complete all around, save for a few small minimal spots of damage (mostly on back) and a small contact on the backside. I have not yet had a better Vietnam heliodor in the last 5 years as these trickled out, for sheer intensity in this size. It is, to my eye, one of the most color-saturated heliodors I have seen, period. Weighs 55 grams. valued $3000-4000
