Item Description

Cleavage octahedrons are a classic Southern Illinois fluorite form. Miners would chip these out of high-grade massive fluorite as gifts or to pass the time. This large, classic, gemmy and lustrous, bi-colored octo has pretty light sky-blue color beautifully accented with a violet purple area. Most cleavage octos were a single color. Common in the 1950 and 60s, you don't see many around anymore in this size and fine bi-colored quality. Purple fluorescence. Ex Herb Obodda dealer stock. BETTER IN PERSON.
