Item Description

A beautiful, gemmy and lustrous, bi-colored tourmaline from the famous Himalaya Mine. The base of the crystal is the pretty, classic "Himalaya-pink" and even has a bit of achroite (colorless) tourmaline on one side. The upper portion, including the complex pyramidal termination, is a beautiful strawberry-red color. Strikingly and aesthetically attached to the side is a 2.2 cm, glassy, doubly terminated quartz crystal. Complete all-around and pristine. A classic, well-striated, polychrome, combination beauty from this renowned locale. 32 grams. Ex Hubert de Monmonier & University of Arizona Museum Collections (definitely an older piece).
