Item Description

Dramatic and sculptural large tourmaline and quartz from Pech. An impressive parallel-growth cluster of watermelon tourmalines is strikingly set at the intersection of two large terminated quartz crystals. The lustrous, translucent tourmalines, to 8.3 cm, have olive-green rinds surrounding the pastel-pink cores. The matte charcoal-gray terminations are a super contrast. The glassy, translucent quartz crystals are accented with striking stepped-growth faces. The artistic tourmaline cluster is 360-degrees, essentially pristine, with only a couple of trivial edge wilbers. The embedded albite is a typical accessory. Classic and impressive large Pech combination material with multiple display views. Backlighting lights up the tourmaline interiors. Ex Sanabria Collection and acquired in 2005.
