Item Description

Bornite specimens are extremely rare and are almost never available from the famous Sterling Hill Mine. Splendent, iridescent bornite crystals invest all sides of the sugary calcite matrix. The iridescent colors are mainly magenta and peacock-blue. This is a very rich copper ore specimen. Classic pink fluorescence for the calcite. This must have been a notable find, as even the mine level and pillar are known. Robbing the pillars must have come late in the mine history. Ex Howard Belsky Collection.
