Item Description

An attractive association specimen from Dzhezkazgan featuring fine sharp, isolated, slightly iridescent Bornite crystal group with cream colored, radiating group of Baryte on matrix. The largest Bornite group measures 1.2 cm across and the largest Baryte "ball" measures 2.7 cm. An excellent piece of what are considered to be the finest Bornites found in modern times. These specimens came out for a brief time in the early 1990s, and are now quite rare on the market. Dzhezkazgan mines are famous for sharp world-class Bornite specimens. You would be hard-pressed to find another piece of this size and quality available from most dealers today. The piece comes with a classic label from Josef Vajdak / Pequa Rare Minerals, which immediately increases the value. You can read Joe's biography here: http://www.minrec.org/labels.asp?colid=1371
