Item Description

A nice sold mass of copper ore in the form of iridescent golden, purple and blue Bornite with Chalcopyrite wedged between host rock matrix. A great example of what the ore looked like from the old locality at Miedzianka (formerly called Kupferberg = Copper Mountain). Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#3563) with a label from the Mineralogisches Institut der Bergakademie in Freiberg. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
