Item Description

The well-known Rensselaer Quarry of Indiana is noted for excellent calcite, marcasite and pyrite specimens, but fine sphalerite specimens are VERY RARE. This striking two-sided specimen features sparkly, brown to gray-brown, sphalerite botryoids to 1.3 cm nicely scattered on brassy marcasite crystals on the ironstone matrix. Gray tack is noted on the "B" side. Decidedly uncommon material from this noted locale, which is closed and flooded. Ex Larry Krause dealer stock.
