Item Description

An outstanding CABINET combination plate from the historic mines of Zacatecas. A super-sharp, 2.4 cm, cluster of moderately lustrous, battleship-gray, bournonite cogwheels is centrally located on the undulating sulfide matrix covered with two generations of quartz crystals sprinkled with contrasting, lustrous and striated, brassy, pyrite pyritohedrons. Bournonite of this quality is very uncommon from Zacatecas. It reminds me of classic Herodsfoot, England material and will be at a much lower price point! $100 in the 1970s or early 80s was not cheap. Ex Belsky Collection. valued today at $1000. this is a large, and very classic bournonite for a rare locale for the species
