Item Description

A plethora of Brandtite crystals form a largely two-dimensional carpet composed of prismatic, slightly striated, light magenta-pink Brandtite. Although the Brandtite looks greenish in the photos, it is attributed to their translucency and the dark matrix that hosts them. Under the microscope with direct lighting they are distinctly pinkish. Caryopilite occurs as tiny tufts and crusts of tan microcrystals. This is an excellent example for the species and is from the type locality, the Harstigen Mine, Sweden. Ex. Swedish National Museum collection with labels. Valued $1000
