Item Description

A glorious, sharp, gemmy, yellow-green euhedral brazilianite crystal from the famous namesake Type Locality. The well-formed crystal is very glassy, has bright luster and is nicely accented with the bed of muscovite crystals. This very fine miniature is from the original finds of the 1940s and are valued highly. The photos do not convey well the rich color or the special gemminess of this piece. One edge is contacted and lightly dinged, which is certainly only a modest detraction. This is a gorgeous, classic crystal with the unique color from those old finds that has not been equaled since! A nice sized miniature with cutting value, as well. Ex Earl Calvert, a well-known California collector, who passed away in 1964 and the David Burgess Collection. The rare Co-arsenate, Burgessite, is named after him.
