Brochantite (fine crystals)

The famous Milpillas Mine in Mexico has produced some iconic minerals in its fairly brief existence, and while its best known for its superb Azurites, there are several other minerals that are found in world class examples from this prestigious locale. This piece is a beautiful, showy, fine quality thumbnail featuring free-standing, excellent, dark vivid emerald green prismatic crystals of Brochantite measuring up to 7 mm, on matrix. Brochantite is rarely seen in specimens like this, as the crystals are often lying flat (and often tightly intergrown) on the matrix, so to find isolated free-standing crystals like this is a big deal. A lovely piece of this now hard to find material, as the locality will no longer produce any specimens.
