Item Description

A VERY RARE and rich large old-time combination specimen from this long extinct copper mine, that was active from about 1908-14. Both species are extremely rare from here. Tiny spherical clusters of gorgeous, gemmy emerald-green brochantite needles are richly scattered among lighter green bubbly malachite crusts. The hefty sculptural matrix from this skarn deposit appears to be composed of mostly of granular green vesuvianite and quartz. Choice and rare old combination material of the species and locale from the Kay Robertson Collection # 6545. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record). A MUST for the Nevada or species collector!
