Item Description

Scintillating, gemmy, emerald-green brochantite microcrystals fill sculptural vugs in matrix on this showy and excellent combination piece from Morenci. Brochantite is very uncommon from this district and certainly worth picking up for an Arizona collector, a secondary ore mineral collector, or a micro collector. Small areas of an unknown blue mineral can be seen as well (most likely Azurite). We photographed the piece with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6618). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Velt" November-December 2017). What is the value for such a hard to find locality piece?
