Item Description

A RARE locality specimen from the famous Metcalf Pit at Morenci featuring a gorgeous, rich emerald green, chatoyant "spray" of Brochantite plastered flat against the host rock matrix. I have to say that I can't remember seeing a piece quite like this from the Metcalf Pit, and it's a must have specimen for any fan of Arizona minerals or secondary ore minerals. Priced in our inventory at $750 for the simple fact that you just don't seen Morenci Brochantites on the market, especially with such beautiful form! From the collection of Robert (Bob) Reynolds who passed in August of 2020. Bob was a well-known fossil and mineral expert and former Curator of Earth Sciences at the San Bernardino County Museum in California. The rare phyllomanganate-chromate species Reynoldsite was named in his honor in 2011.
