Item Description

A classic and very hard to find Swiss Alpine Brookite specimen! These are highly sought after by collectors, as true Alpine Brookites are elusive and often very small, so the fact that the crystal on this specimen measures 7 mm, is significant. The crystal itself has a dark bronze hue with nearly black coloring around the exterior and sits atop a matrix of thin Quartz crystals which are inluded with "Chlorite" (most likely Clinochlore). If you look online, you'll see a lot of the Swiss Brookites are micro crystals, and this piece is more than just a reference specimen for the size of the crystal alone. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#11920). Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
