Item Description

A classic example of Cacoxenite from the Minas del Horcajo in Ciudad Real, Spain featuring a small group of golden-bronze radiating aggregates with a slightly "velvety" luster/appearance, sitting on oxidized matrix. This area is well-known for its phosphate species, typically seen in micro crystal examples, but it also was a lead-zinc-copper-silver producer as well. From the collection of Vasco Trancoso, a medical doctor and prominent mineral collector from near Lisbon, Portugal (https://www.mindat.org/user-11954.html). He assembled his mineral collection over the course of 60 years, and built a fine worldwide display collection that we recently purchased. This piece is pictured on mindat.org at https://www.mindat.org/photo-200341.html
