Item Description

A cool Calcite specimen from China featuring a good-sized scalenohedral group of an off-white color which is overgrown by several gemmy rhombic scalenohedra ranging in color from a soft yellow-gold to a light reddish hue. The luster on the secondary Calcite crystals is vitreous and almost wet in appearance. The piece displays beautifully from several angles, and when backlit, several of the crystals are extremely gemmy. Very little damage and unique form make it a worthwhile display piece.
