Six intergrown disks of white Calcite comprise this aesthetic Tsumeb Calcite cluster. Fine calcites with no color, no staining from all the various minerals in the mix at Tsumeb, are fairly uncommon. This Calcite has an elegant presence as the disks are translucent with each flattened rhombohedral face having its own striation pattern and all have an exquisite satin luster. Size of the crystals vary from 4 cm for the largest to 8 mm for the smallest. The Calcite crystals intersect at high to moderate angles for great geometry and aesthetics and situated on a small sliver of altered limestone matrix. There is some minor contacting on the bottom, but the superb Calcites are in perfect condition. The piece sits nicely on its own.
