There are thousands of localities for Calcite in the world, but the famous crystals from Malmberget, Sweden are among the most iconic examples of the species ever found. This piece is an attractive toenail specimen from the famous 1989 discovery featuring a sharp, well-formed, golden scalenohedral with a satiny interior and gorgeous crystal faces. I love the thin modifying faces on the crystal, which are unlike any other habit of Calcite out there. The termination is undamaged, along with the rest of the crystal, the only damage is at the base where it was removed from the pocket. If you collect Calcite, you need one of these in your collection.
