Item Description
Calcites from this noted English locale, that closed in 1931, are seldom available. This is a very fine and sculptural, stalactitic growth of stacked, hexagonal poker-chip crystals. The light gray crystals are lustrous and translucent. Both ends are contacted/cleaved and there is one clean repair beneath the number. This excellent piece has a fine provenance, having been collected by Sir Arthur Russell in 1928. Ex. Herb Obodda Collection. A classic English calcite.
