Item Description

Calcite specimens of this quality are VERY RARE from any of the 23 localities MINDAT lists for the species in Transbaikalia. Randomly intergrown, very glassy, translucent, yellow-green, tapered tabular rhombs to 5.0 cm make for a showy and rare large piece. Nearly pristine, with only a few gently bruised edges and a bit of periphery wear. Rare and choice material from the Bob Trimingham Collection. Purchased from respected Mineralogical Research Co. in 1980 and came with an unattached Russian museum label, according to Bob's card.
