Item Description

The Red Dome Mine is known for its great cuprite specimens, but has also produced a FEW small pockets of fine calcites, as is in evidence here. These calcites are just stunning in their gemmy clarity, approaching Herkimer quartz in clarity and similar in their form. This one is twinned and is nearly pristine, with only trivial edge wear. Difficult to photograph, with the extreme glassiness, clarity and natural internal crazing. Choice and uncommon material.
