Item Description

A beautiful older Calcite specimen from the early 2000s. China for many years has produced a plethora of superb and unique Calcite specimens, and the fine pieces from Wenshan are no exception. This small cabinet specimen is a showy and great quality piece showing a "flower" or "tree" shape comprised of gemmy, colorless, sharp, vitreous, scalenohedral crystals in a burst-like growth, free of matrix. The crystals feature defined skeletal / "hoppered" growth, which we've done our best to illustrate in the video. No major damage and very good quality for this particular find from roughly 20 years ago. Valued $950. Ex Brian Kosnar specimen.
