Item Description

An exceptional and rare style of calcite from the famous mines at Bisbee. Calcite is a highly desirable gangue mineral from here, with most specimens being sculptural cave formations. Sharp scalenohedrons are very uncommon and such an outstanding pair of rabbit ears crystals is indeed, rare! The lustrous, translucent crystals are beautifully accented with smaller crystals and manganese oxides. Complete all-around and in great shape. The small crystal is pristine and the large crystal has a gently cleaved tip, which is certainly only a very modest detraction to this super and excellent Bisbee rarity. From an Arizona collection. Pink fluorescence. Bruce Murphy Collection
