Calcite, Fluorite & Galena (superb - Ross Lillie Coll.)

Item Description

A SUPERB, rare and large calcite, galena and fluorite combination from the Denton Mine. An impressive, pristine, 9.0 cm cluster of densely intergrown glassy, gemmy, complex calcite rhombs is dramatically attached to a 5.5 x 4.2 x 3.0, splendent metallic galena cube partially coated with tiny gemmy calcites and a bit of fluorite. The "tail" of calcite crystal-encrusted purple fluorite on one end is a super accent. Specimens of this combination quality and size are VERY RARE from the Denton Mine. Ex Ross Lillie Collection # 0319, collected by Wendell Smith with a May, 1993 date. Ross's label says it all: "Superb specimen. Very fine calcite on galena w/ fluorite is highly unusual." Valued at $2500 and worth it.
