Item Description

Two classic "cannon-shaped" elongated calcite crystals are aesthetically set on the blocky matrix on this excellent specimen from the historic and extinct mines at Bleiberg. The sharp, glassy, translucent, multi-hued crystals with waxy luster faces reach 3.5 cm. The base has been sawed to enhance the fine display quality. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 8768 and acquired at Ron Bentles shop in March, 1979. Previously in the Frank Hess Collection. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017).
