Item Description

This showy and excellent calcite crystal plate is highlighted by the well-placed, 1.7 x 1.6 x 1.6 cm, pseudocubic rhomb. The translucent, highly lustrous crystals have lightly frosted faces and light brown sugar color. Nearly pristine, the large rhomb has trivial bruising on one side. This is another calcite habit from the uncommon La Junta area of Colorado, where the calcites are cracked open from nodules/concretions in the Cretaceous-aged Pierre Shale. Ex Marty Zinn and Karl Warning Collections. Purchased from Marty in March, 1989. BETTER IN PERSON.
