Item Description

A sculptural, rich and showy combination specimen from this famous Concepcion del Oro mine. Scintillating, gemmy, colorless to malachite-included, rounded calcite rhombs, to 6 mm, are richy clustered or as striking isolated crystals on the sturdy sculptural matrix with starkly contrasting botryoidal green malachite. There is more calcite and malachite on the back, as a bonus. Choice older material from the Tom Wolfe Calcite Collection from the 1960s to 80s. Combination specimens, such as this, are seldom on the market. See the excellent El Cobre Mine article in the Mineralogical Record Mexico-VII Special Issue, September-October, 2016.
