Item Description

A striking specimen from the less well-known San Vicente Mine at Guanajuato, Mexico. The mounded, banded, amethyst crystal matrix is festooned with very striking, layered, "sandwich style", poker-chip calcite crystals to 1.9 cm and sprays of calcite needles. The poker-chip crystals are coated with a druse of secondary calcite, giving them an interesting sugary appearance. The calcite crystals also look wheat sheave bundles tied with brown rope. This is a very fine and rare combination specimen from this historic locale. Ex David Stoudt Collection.
