Item Description

A striking, unusual and excellent two-sided specimen from the famous Kelly Mine. Unusually partitioned, classic, pretty, Kelly-blue aurichalcite crystals cover the thin, platy gossan matrix on one side, of what appears to be a bent cave formation. Glassy, translucent, complex calcite rhombs cover the incised vug on the other side. The rhombs rest on and are partially included by aurichalcite. Aurichalcite and calcite are VERY rare and desirable combination species from this noted New Mexico locale. They sell for a premium. Ex Robert Whitmore Collection.
